The farmer in the dell

本書由Child's Play所出版。本書的洞洞設計隨著故事內容而增加，每一頁都有豐富的圖片，有各形各色的人們及農村中的家禽家畜。在故事的編寫上，作者用一個簡單的句型，一一介紹這位農夫的家人與朋友，全文每個段落以“Hi-ho, the derry-o”如同口號般的吆喝聲貫穿，使課文讀起來很有鄉村原始的歡樂風味。

第一頁是“The farmer takes a wife, The farmer takes a wife, Hi-ho, the derry-o, The farmer takes a wife.”猜猜看右頁許多的女士中誰是農夫的太太呢？是捧著蛋糕的女士，還是抱著小狗的女士呢？還是其他人呢？答案就在下一頁，第二個洞裡的就是農夫的太太。

“The wife takes a child, The wife takes a child, Hi-ho, the derry-o, The wife takes a child.”看看在農場上玩耍的小孩子中，誰是他們的小孩呢？當然答案就在下一頁的第三個洞裡。故事就這樣延續下去，溪谷農夫的家人及朋友將一一出現，我們繼續看下去吧！
