三隻小豬分別用不同的建築材料蓋了三棟小屋；第一隻小豬以稻草來蓋房子，一下子就被大野狼給吹倒了，於是牠跑到第二隻小豬的家裡去躲避。第二隻小豬用比較堅硬的木棍來蓋房子，沒想到大野狼還是把房子給吹倒，於是兩隻小豬跑到第三隻小豬家去避難。第三隻小豬以最堅固的材料－磚塊來蓋房子，這下子大野狼無論如何使勁地吹，房子還是不動如山。而大野狼不甘心吃不到小豬，於是爬上了屋頂，打算從煙囪進入房屋內。結果大野狼咻地一聲掉入了正在熊熊的爐火上，裝滿燒得滾燙的熱水的大鍋中。從此以後小豬們便在也不必擔心大野狼的威脅了!
