Who's Been Walking on My Floor?
1. Warm up: Open, shut them
2. Before storytelling: Animals Riddles
Examples: I like to curl up in the sun. I have whiskers. Who am I? (cat)
I like to play with sticks. I say "ruff, ruff, ruff." Who am I? (dog)
I run very fast. I have a tail.I say "neigh, niegh, niegh." Who am I? (horse)
I am fat. I like to sleep all day. I say "oink, oink, oink." Who am I? (pig)
I have a crown. I get up very early. And I say "cock-a-doodle-do." Who am I? (rooster)
3. Storytelling "Who's Been Walking on My Floor?"
Kids noticed that it was a rainning day, so we sang "Rain, Rain, Go Away."
I replace the lyrics to kids' names and invite the kid to the circle.
4. Activities
Activity #1 The footprints belong to ....
Activity #2 First, kids select the items for living room/bedroom/bathroom/kitchen.
Examples: Cupboard and stove are in the kitchen. Sofa and table are in the living room.
And recall who was hiding in the living room/bedroom/bathroom/kitchen?
Examples: Roly rooster was hiding in the kitchen.
Perky pig/Duncan dog were hiding in the bathroom.
Hertbert horse was hiding in the bedroom.
Daphne duck was hiding in the living room.
Activity #3 Whose footprint is this?
Have kids trace their foot on a piece of paper, hand the paper over to the teacher.
The class guess whom the footprint belongs to.
Let me guess...
From left to right, top to bottom: Peter, David, Andrew, Irene, Jodie, and Selina!
5. Wrap up: One Little Finger
